Appointment

Appointments to regular, full-time
positions are made according to merit and fitness to be ascertained
by competitive examinations. Examinations shall be prepared and
administered under the direction of the Human Resources Office.

Examinations
|

When examinations are given, all applicants are
required to take the exam. Exam date, time, and location are listed on
the job announcement. Typically, applicants will not receive an
individual notice to attend the exam. Individuals whose applications are
received after the posting closing date will not be allowed to take the
exam.
|
Physical Examination/Drug Testing
|
Offers of employment are contingent
upon successful completion of a drug test. Certain laborer, police and
fire positions require successful completion of a
physical exam.
|
Probation
|
Appointments shall be subject to
successful completion of an established probationary period.
