2-601 Signatures, Insurance, and Liability. The signatures of the City Manager and the Treasurer on checks of the City may be affixed facsimile by machine or other device; and, as so affixed, they shall be honored by depository banks in any amount up to $25,000 per check and shall be wholly operative and binding in favor of such banks, as provided by M.S.A. Section 47.41. The City Manager, further, is directed to obtain and maintain insurance for depositors against losses resulting from use of such facsimiles, in the amount of $25,000; and thereupon each said officer shall not be personally liable as to any such check, unless the loss occurs by reason of his own wrongful act, all as provided for in M.S.A. Section 47.42.
