CHAPTER 5-300
AMUSEMENT CENTERS
5-301 Application of Chapter 5-100. The provisions of
Chapter 5-100 shall apply to the issuance of licenses hereunder.
5-302 Definition. An “amusement center” is hereby defined to be any
establishment which utilizes in its operation amusement devices, including,
but not limited to, pool tables, table tennis, shuffle board, or any
mechanical amusement device, and whose principal source of revenue is
derived from such devices, but shall not include bowling alleys.
5-303 License Required. No person shall operate an amusement center without
having secured a license to operate the same. The license shall be issued by
the City Clerk after approval of same by the City Council.
5-304 Application. In addition to such information as the City Clerk may
require pursuant to Section 5-104, the application shall also include:
(1) The name, residence, and birth
date of the applicant, if an individual, and if a corporation, the names,
residences, and birth dates of those owners holding more than five percent
(5%) of the outstanding stock of the corporation.
(2) The names and address and birth date of the manager of such center, if
different from the owners.
(3) The premises wherein the amusement center is to be located.
(4) A statement detailing each gross misdemeanor or felony relating to the
operation of amusement centers and related activities of which the applicant
or, in the case of a corporation, the owners of more than five percent (5%)
of the outstanding stock of the corporation, have been convicted, and
whether or not the applicant has ever applied for or held in other
communities a license to operate a similar type of business.
(5) The number and types of devices to be used.
(6) The hours of operation.
(7) In addition to the above, the applicant shall submit at the time of the
application a site plan of the premises showing location of amusement
devices, sanitary facilities, and parking provisions for vehicles and
bicycles.
5-305 License Fee. The fee for the license shall be
established from time to time by ordinance of the City Council. [Revised
