Application Process
The City of Coon Rapids accepts applications only for vacant advertised positions. Current openings are advertised on this web site, in local papers and on the Job Hotline at 763-767-6597. Applications must be received by 4:30 p.m. on the posted closing date. Late applications will not receive further consideration. The Human Resources Department cannot be responsible for failure of other agencies or postal services providers to forward applications by the published deadline.
Important Information:
- A separate application form and a supplemental application form (when required) must be submitted for each vacancy.
- All paid experience must be documented on the application form.
- Experience will be pro-rated based on full-time equivalency. For example, one year of related experience in a half-time status will count as 6 months of work experience.
- When a supplemental application form is required in addition to the employment application form, all paid work experience shown on the supplemental application must be also listed on the employment application form in order to receive appropriate credit.
- Initial screening for each job vacancy will be based solely upon the employment application form and, where applicable, the required supplemental application form.
- Unless indicated otherwise on the job posting, resumes: a.) will only be considered when specifically requested; and b.) will serve as a clarifier of information listed on the application and supplemental application forms.
