Q: What type of licenses does the City issue?

A: Licenses the City issues include peddlers and transient merchants, lawful gambling organizations, on-sale and off-sale liquor establishments, tree trimmers, garbage haulers, pawnbrokers, tobacco sales, dog and cat (please provide a copy of the rabies vaccination for your pet), carnivals, massage therapists and taxi cabs.  Licensing involving food is handled by the Anoka County Health Department.   The regulations for these licenses are available in the City Code. Q: What type of home improvements do I need a permit for?

A: Permits are required for all new construction, and most remodeling and additions, fences, pools, decks, etc. Call the Building Inspection Division at 763-767-6476 for further information.
