Coon Rapids Athletic Association

Unless otherwise noted, registrations are held at the CRAA Building, 401–115th Ave. NW (Old Fire Station #2)For information on registration dates/times or to leave a message for someone contact you about a particular sport, call 763-757-8359.   Visit the CRAA website!  CRAA meetings are held monthly on the 3rd Tuesday at 7:00 p.m.  These meetings are open to the public and are held at the CRAA building.

The Coon Rapids Soccer Association (CRSA) is a non-profit organization but operates on a full-time basis. Full-time director of Coach and Player Development (DOC) oversees all aspects of soccer.

- CRSA offers summer and fall Instructional (rec) age specific programs for players starting at Pre K ages upwards.
- CRSA offers competitive (traveling) programs for boys and girls aged U9 thru U19, teams play in summer and fall.
- Off-season training is organized by DOC, Dec thru May.

Open youth room – Jr. & Sr. High Youth every Wednesday (except when school is not in session) 3:00-6:00pm.   An open gym to play games or just “hang out” and listen to music.  Pizza, hot dogs and pop are available at a low cost.
 

COMMUNITY PROGRAMS

Kinship


Kinship is a faith-based mentoring program that matches children, ages 5 –15, who are in need of additional adult support, with individuals, couples, and families.  Volunteers include children in everyday activities as they build their friendship.  Currently there are about 25 children in Anoka County who are waiting for their Kinship friend.  Kinship is in special need of volunteers who are interested in working with boys and girls ages 10 and up.  If you or your family is interested in learning more about volunteering with Kinship or if you know of a child who could benefit from having a Kinship friend, please call today at 763-862-6755 or go to www.kinship.org.  

COMMUNITY EDUCATION

Community Schools:  The Anoka-Hennepin Community Education Department offers a variety of recreation and enrichment classes and activities for preschool, elementary and middle school age youth.   Call 763-506-5522 regarding the Northdale Middle School program and Adams, Hamilton, Eisenhower and Sand Creek elementary programs.  Call 763-506-4912 regarding the Coon Rapids Middle School program and the Mississippi, Morris Bye, LO Jacob, Hoover and Sorteberg elementary school programs.

Big Brothers - Big Sisters

North Suburban Counseling Center is a private, non-profit mental health center. They provide professional, affordable and quickly accessible out-patient mental health services to people living in Anoka County. A sliding fee is available to qualified residents of Anoka County. 

Mediation Services

Mediation Services is a non-profit community dispute resolution program offering mediation and mediator training for children and adults. They also sponsor workshops in building anger solving skills. This program is directed to families, children and organizations that serve families and youth.

Girl Scouts


Did you know you can register for Girl Scouts at any time of the year and at any age?  We welcome all girls between the ages of 5 and 17 years old as well as adult volunteers who are at least 18 years old.  Girl Scouts is more than just cookies, camp and crafts.  It is about helping girls achieve their potential and become confident, competent and caring individuals.
