The City is actively involved in recycling as mandated
by the State's Select Committee on Recycling & Environment (SCORE).
The recycling center is located at 1831
111th Avenue NW and accepts newspapers, magazines, junk mail, glass and
plastic bottles, metal cans, plastic bags, scrap metal, waste oil and filters,
antifreeze, wet cell and rechargeable batteries, corrugated cardboard, telephone books,
hard cover books, styrofoam, plastic 1-6, and pop/beer cases.
A curbside recycling
program requires trash haulers to provide every household with a their
single sort container. Haulers are required to accept newspapers, magazines,
phone books, cardboard, metal cans, glass and plastic beverage bottles.
These items require no sorting, place all recyclables together and set at the curb by
6:30 a.m. for pickup the same day as your trash
collection. Check with your hauler for other items collected curbside.
