Coon Rapids Street Division
763-767-6462

City streets are patched, swept and seal coated by the Street Division. Streets are cleared of ice and snow and slippery areas are salted and sanded. Public sidewalks are repaired and plowed clear of snow. Storm water is carried off the streets through a complicated system of inlets, pipes, ditches and detention ponds.  Traffic signals, stop signs and street lights are also maintained.
Who is responsible for road maintenance?

All county roads are maintained and plowed by Anoka County; state and interstate highways are the responsibility of the State of Minnesota. Traffic signs and signals are maintained and operated by the agency responsible for the adjacent roadways.

The City of Coon Rapids is responsible for residential roads and other roads not owned by the County or State.
