National Arbor Day

Coon Rapids is dedicated to assisting residents with forestry education and environmental awareness programs such as the annual National Arbor Day celebration.
National Arbor Day is celebrated each year on the last Friday in April.
The annual Arbor Day Tree Sale assists residents in acquiring a tree for their property at a nominal fee. Residents choose from a wide selection of bareroot nursery stock pre-ordered through our Forestry Division. The trees are then delivered to the Public Works Facility and picked up by residents.
Past Arbor Day celebrations included residents assisting forestry crews with planting trees in parks and other public areas or supervising children at local schools as they beautify their grounds with trees or other landscaping. Arbor Day is a great opportunity to learn more about trees and discuss questions with the City Forester or other Forestry staff.
