Recycling Mattresses & Carpet
Mattress recycling
Mattresses can be recycled if they are unable to be donated. Mattresses are accepted the first Saturday of the month 9:00 a.m. to Noon at the Coon Rapids Recycling Center, 1831 111th Ave NW, Coon Rapids. Fees: $15.00 each piece.
Carpet Recycling
Carpet recycling is collected on scheduled dates only. The next scheduled event is October 1st, 2011 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Coon Rapids Recycling Center, 1831 111th Ave NW, Coon Rapids. Fee: $10.00 per vehicle/load. For other drop off sites visit www.brotex.com
To recycle the carpet and pad material must meet the following requirements:
- Carpet must be rolled and tied. Loose material or scraps will not be accepted.
- Residential carpet only, business recycling will not be accpeted
- Separated foam or fiber padding will be accepted
- Carpet and pad must be dry, wet carpet or pad will not be accepted
- Rubber backed carpet or rubber pads will not be accepted
- No carpet tile or other rigid flooring will be accepted
- Material must be rolled by single material type (old, new, pad)
- Carpet rolls must be a maximum of 6 ft for width and 20 feet long
- Rolls must be tied with string or twine (no duct tape)
- Tack strips, nails, staples or knife blades will not be allowed
- Cut out seaming tape as much as possible
- No wet glue, debris, refuse, rocks or caked mud
- We will accept a minimal amount of loose dirt in carpet/pad
- No co-mingled refuse accepted
