Coon Rapids Senior Services located is
in the Civic
Center at City Hall and provides a variety of activities and
services to senior citizens.
The role of Senior Services is to link
seniors with services in the community. We provide and
coordinate senior dining, volunteer transportation, social,
recreational, exercise and wellness activities, Chores & More, and the
Senior Companion Program. Volunteers are responsible for implementing
Senior Service programs and a monthly newsletter is published detailing
upcoming activities.

Anoka County Traveler Transportation Services
The Anoka County Traveler has a “fixed” route scheduled to stop at
the Coon Rapids Senior
Services once an hour. Call 763-422-7075 to receive a schedule.

Telephone Assistance Plan
Senior Citizens age 65 or over or people with a disability may
qualify to receive a discount by calling 1-800-244-1111. If you are with an independent telephone company,
you would need to contact them directly. When you call request a form to fill
out to receive the discount. Individuals currently receiving assistance from SSI, MSA, food
stamps, general assistance and medical assistance would qualify for the
discount.
Discounted Sewer Rate
To receive a reduction on the sewer charge, senior
citizens who meet income guidelines or disabled persons may apply annually to the utility billing
division to prove eligibility. Call 763-767-6438 to apply.
