Bikes that can't be returned to their rightful owners will get a new home thanks to a new partnership with the Coon Rapids Police Department and the non-profit Bikes 4 Kids.On Tuesday night, the City Council adopted a resolution to approve donating found bikes to Bikes 4 Kids. In the past, bikes that were never claimed were auctioned off for a nominal fee. But the auction will no longer accept bikes with any rust or damage. So, instead, those bikes will be refurbished by Bikes 4 Kids and donated to those in need. The police department will still auction off bikes in good condition.
