Door Hangers Educate Public About 2020 Census

We are now less than two months away from Census Day and communities across the nation are working to educate citizens about the importance of the once-a-decade population count.

This week, several city workers canvassed local apartment and town home communities leaving door hangers that explain why it’s important to complete the Census.  All households in the U.S. will be receiving a postcard in the mail in the middle of March and then a follow up letter.  This will be the first time ever that you can complete the Census questionnaire online.

A grant from the state helped the city purchase 5,000 door hangers.  The Census is critical in determining our representation in Congress and the amount of federal funding our state and local governments receive.
