For Businesses Impacted by COVID-19

Business Resources

Updated: 9-21-20

A variety of resources are available to help businesses, employers, and workers dealing with the impacts of COVID-19. The City continues to update its information as changes occur.

State of Minnesota Small Business Relief Grants

This State of Minnesota program provides $10,000 grants to Minnesotan owned and operated businesses that can demonstrate financial hardship as a result of the COVID-19 outbreak. A total of $60.3 million is available for grant awards which will be selected through a computer-generated, randomized selection process. Applications will be accepted Tuesday, June 23 through Thursday, July 2.

Business 4 Business MSP

A broad alliance of Twin Cities counties, chambers of commerce, community development agencies and other partners are building a local support network to help small businesses survive and recover from the COVID-19 pandemic. This initiative is currently raising funds to support small businesses in the Twin Cities. In the coming weeks and months, more information will become available on small business grants and technical assistance for businesses. Visit the website for more details.

Temporary Outdoor Dining
Effective June 1, a State of Minnesota Executive Order allows restaurants to reopen for outdoor service. In response, the City of Coon Rapids has adopted a policy to make it as easy as possible to allow the City’s restaurants to offer expanded outdoor dining. This policy streamlines the process for restaurants to quickly expand current outdoor seating areas or create new outdoor seating. More details and the application form is available on the City website here.

Questions about the City’s process may be directed to Trevor White by email.

Additional guidance from the State of Minnesota on reopening restaurants is available online.
