Superintendent David Law Leaving Anoka-Hennepin Schools

The Anoka-Hennepin School District announced this morning that Superintendent David Law has accepted the superintendent position with the Minnetonka Public School District. He will start his new role on July 1 (subject to approval of a contract).

On Thursday night, the School Board for Minnetonka Schools selected Law as their preferred candidate. He was 2020 Minnesota Superintendent of the Year and 2020 President of the Minnesota Association of School Administrators.

A graduate of Coon Rapids High School, Law served in the Anoka-Hennepin School District for 24 years, the last eight as superintendent. He previously served as a classroom teacher and assistant principal.

Anoka-Hennepin School Board chair Marci Anderson released a statement that reads in part, "Superintendent Law has demonstrated outstanding leadership for our school district and has emerged as a state and national leader in education. Academic excellence for our students continues to increase, graduation rates are on the rise and our focus on improvement has flourished under his watch."

A timeline for Law's replacement has not been announced.
