Virtual Night to Unite on CRPD Facebook Page
For those of you who tuned in to watch the Virtual Night to Unite Facebook LIVE event on Tuesday, October 6, we appreciate your comments, questions and support! After careful consideration of current public health guidelines, the Coon Rapids Police Department decided it would offer a virtual Night to Unite alternative to the traditional visits provided by police and fire personnel. Each year over 100 neighborhoods participate in Night to Unite, which typically takes place the first Tuesday in August. Due to the current pandemic, the event was moved to October 6 in hopes of having in-person parties and visits with neighborhoods, but in-person visits were not possible for the safety of the public and police and fire personnel.
In case you missed the online production, you can still view it on the Coon Rapids Police Department Facebook page. The program featured fun segments where you can get to know some of our police officers, a K-9 demonstration, squad car tour, fire truck tour and more.
Mark your calendar for 2021 when Night to Unite will move back to the first Tuesday in August, and the department is hopeful in-person visits will be a GO!
