Holiday Lighting Contest Winners

The winners of the Coon Rapids Arts Commission Holiday Lighting Contest have been chosen. Congratulations to: 

  • Jordan DeVries, 11837 Zilla St. NW, who won 1st place in the Motion category
  • Jerry Murphy, 10940 Magnolia St. NW, who won 2nd place in the Motion category
  • David and Gloria Teske, 1850 103rd Ave., who won 1st place in the Still category
  • Wayne Woods, 11261 Swallow St. NW, who won 2nd place in the Still category

Coon Rapids City Hall

City Hall Closed December 24, 25 & January 1

In observance of the Christmas holidays, and New Years Day, Coon Rapids City Hall will be closed on December 24, 25, and January 1. 

Special Election

State Senate District 35 Special Election

There will be a Special Election to fill a vacancy in Senate District 35. The vacancy was caused by the resignation of Senator Branden Petersen, effective October 31, 2015. Senate District 35 is within precincts 1-1, 1-2 and 2-1 in the City of Coon Rapids. The special election Primary Election will be January 12, 2016 and the Special Election will be February 9, 2016. Polling locations will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Absentee voting begins December 18, 2015 at City Hall during normal business hours of 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. 
 
PLEASE NOTE:  Precincts 1-1 and 1-2 will now vote at the Anoka County Sheriff’s Office at 13301 Hanson Boulevard. For more election information, visit the City’s website.
