Metropolitan Council Environmental Services (MCES) Lift Station L-34 Improvements at 1055 Coon Rapids Boulevard Extension 

The Metropolitan Council Environmental Services (MCES) is currently rehabilitating its lift station (L34) adjacent to this City-owned pedestrian bridge along Coon Rapids Boulevard Extension. 2021 Street Reconstruction Project 21-1 – 3.0 miles of local streets (from 127th Avenue north of 130th Lane between Shenandoah Boulevard and Hanson Boulevard plus Bluebird Circle north of 121st Avenue) 

The Contractor for this project is New Look Construction. The Contractor’s main contact is Adam Pohlkamp at 320-980-3637. The City’s full-time project inspector is Zach Pfieffer, who can be contacted any time to respond to specific questions or concerns. Zach can be reached at 763-767-6431 (office) or 612-710-8243 (cell).

This project is now substantially complete. Final work includes sawing and sealing of the new asphalt pavement surface which has been rescheduled for early next week. Ongoing work on final punch list items will continue to take place. New street lights will be installed in the next few weeks throughout all project areas.  

Property owners should contact the Contractor and/or project inspector this fall if they have any ongoing issues with their irrigation system.

2021 Street Reconstruction Project 21-2 – 3.6 miles of local streets (streets north of Coon Rapids Boulevard between Flamingo and Jay Streets north to 106th Avenue, Eagle Street to Avocet Street south of Egret Boulevard, and the neighborhood off Foley Boulevard between 95th and 97th Lanes) 

The Contractor for this project is Northdale Construction. The Contractor’s main contact is Kevin Topp at 320-493-7369. The City’s full-time project inspector is Jason Huebscher, who can be contacted any time to respond to specific questions or concerns. Jason can be reached at 763-767-6570 (office) or 612-709-2704 (cell).

Area 1 (streets including Hummingbird Street, Grouse Street, Flamingo Street, 104th Avenue, Ibis Street, Jay Street, and 106th Avenue) is now substantially complete. Sawing and sealing of the new asphalt pavement will take place within the next few weeks.

Next week in Area 2 (streets east of Egret Blvd known as Egret Estates), work includes topsoil and sod restorations in boulevard areas. Paving of the asphalt wear course is planned for the week of October 11.

Work in Area 3 (streets east of Foley Boulevard and north of TH 610 up to 97th Lane) next week includes completion of final paving for the top layer of asphalt on Monday, October 4.

Property owners should contact the Contractor and/or project inspector this fall if they have any ongoing issues with their irrigation system.
