2022 Street Reconstruction Project 22-1

4.2 miles of residential streets north of 119th Avenue and east of Round Lake Boulevard, including streets south of 119th Avenue south to 117th Avenue between Kerry Street and Jonquil Street; and the 117th Lane cul-de-sac east of Northdale Boulevard

The Contractor for this project is Douglas-Kerr Underground, LLC. The Contractor’s main contact is Ryan Kerr at 320-679-8937 (office) or 320-515-0046 (cell). The City’s full-time project inspector is Jason Huebscher, who can be contacted any time to respond to specific questions or concerns. Jason can be reached at 763-767-6570 (office) or 612-709-2704 (cell).

Due to existing utility conflicts (Comcast) within the overall phase 3 area of the combined 22-1 and 22-2 projects (Wedgewood Drive between Round Lake Boulevard and 119th Avenue including all adjacent side streets), the Contractor intends to begin work in the overall combined project phase 4 area (streets north of 119th Avenue and east of Round Lake Boulevard to 121st Avenue including 120th Avenue and Tulip Street) at the beginning of June. This is a change from the original schedule that was mailed to property owners at the beginning of May, which showed phase 4 starting in mid-July. An updated schedule was mailed to affected properties.

On June 10 (today), pavement will be reclaimed in phase 4 (Vintage, Woodbine, and Undercliff Streets). Temporary watermains will be set up on streets scheduled for watermain replacement in phase 4 starting the week of June 20.

Construction work is occurring in phase 3 per the original mailed schedule; however, it is currently limited primarily to miscellaneous utility and storm sewer pipe replacements. This schedule adjustment will allow Comcast additional time needed in the phase 3 area to relocate its facilities in advance of most of the street reconstruction work.

2022 Street Reconstruction Project 22-2

3.6 miles of residential streets north of 119th Avenue along Zea Street west of Round Lake Boulevard and south of Wedgewood Drive; Zea Street between 119th Avenue and Blackfoot Street; streets south of 119th Avenue and north of Coon Rapids Boulevard between Round Lake Boulevard and Silverod Street

The Contractor for this project is Douglas-Kerr Underground, LLC. The Contractor’s main contact is Ryan Kerr at 320-679-8937 (office) or 320-515-0046 (cell). The City’s full-time project inspector is Zach Pfieffer, who can be contacted any time to respond to specific questions or concerns. Zach can be reached at 763-767-6431 (office) or 612-710-8243 (cell).

The Contractor will continue to work in the phase 1 area (streets west of Round Lake Boulevard along Zea Street) on backfilling curbs and restoring driveways and boulevards next week. Asphalt pavement is now scheduled for Zea Street between Blackfoot Street and 119th Avenue by the end of next week.

Completion of hydrant and valve replacements in the phase 2 area (streets east of Round Lake Blvd and south of 119th Avenue) will now take place by Monday, June 13. Mainline curb construction will also take place next week within phase 2 from Wednesday thru Friday.

Comcast continues to work on the remaining completion and restorations associated with the relocation of numerous segments of its buried lines within project 22-2. This relocation work was required since many of the existing Comcast buried lines were located directly behind City curbs that need to be replaced.
