HSA Change
No Cost Telehealth Through 2022!
Recent federal legislation allows a temporary change to medical plans tied to Health Savings Accounts (HSAs).
In-network, non-preventive telehealth services will be no cost
(not subject to deductible) through December 31, 2022.
Only for members on the $2,800/$5,600 and $4,000/$8,000 HealthPartners plans.
This applies to all in-network providers, it is not limited to traditional telehealth providers such as Virtuwell or Dr. on Demand. Out-of-network telehealth services will be subject to costs according to the out-of-network plan benefits.
When on a telehealth visit, you may want to confirm with the provider that they will be coding it as a telehealth visit. If your provider codes the visit as telehealth, HealthPartners will process according to the new rules and there will be no charge for the visit.
What happens if I am charged for a telehealth visit?
- Contact your provider and ask them to review the charge so that it is coded as telehealth and not a regular office visit.
- If the provider needs to correct the coding, they should reprocess the claim with HealthPartners.
- If the provider correctly coded as telehealth, but you were charged, please contact HealthPartners Member Services at 952-883-5000 or 1-800-883-2177.
