2022 Street Reconstruction Project 22-1

4.2 miles of residential streets north of 119^th Avenue and east of Round Lake Boulevard, including streets south of 119^th Avenue south to 117^th Avenue between Kerry Street and Jonquil Street; and the 117^th Lane cul-de-sac east of Northdale Boulevard

The Contractor for this project is Douglas-Kerr Underground, LLC. The Contractor’s main contact is Ryan Kerr at 320-679-8937 (office) or 320-515-0046 (cell). The City’s full-time project inspector is Jason Huebscher, who can be contacted any time to respond to specific questions or concerns. In the phase 3 area (Wedgewood Drive between Round Lake Boulevard and 119^th Avenue including all adjacent side streets) work continues next week with irrigation and boulevard repairs. Remaining asphalt and concrete driveway restorations are planned for early next week. Gravel tolerancing will be performed on the yet unpaved cul-de-sacs along Wedgewood Drive. Paving of asphalt on segments within phase 3 that have not received base pavement, have been rescheduled to take place the week of August 29.

Work in the phase 4 area (streets north of 119^th Avenue and east of Round Lake Boulevard to 121^st Avenue including 120^th Avenue and Tulip Street) is mostly complete. Remaining work includes valve and manhole cover vertical adjustments, paving the final lift of asphalt wear course pavement, and restorations at Vineyard Park.

Work in the phase 5 area (streets south of 119^th Avenue between Kerry and Jonquil Street plus the Marigold and Kerry Street cul-de-sacs north of 119^th Avenue and 117^th Lane east of Northdale Blvd) next week includes any remaining underground storm sewer replacements, and removal of excess gravel material.

It’s anticipated the new sidewalk on the north side of 119^th Avenue will be poured next week.

2022 Street Reconstruction Project 22-2

3.6 miles of residential streets north of 119^th Avenue along Zea Street west of Round Lake Boulevard and south of Wedgewood Drive; Zea Street between 119^th Avenue and Blackfoot Street; streets south of 119^th Avenue and north of Coon Rapids Boulevard between Round Lake Boulevard and Silverod Street

The City’s full-time project inspector is Zach Pfieffer, who can be contacted any time to respond to specific questions or concerns. Phase 1 (streets west of Round Lake Boulevard along Zea Street) is now complete. Remaining work includes sawing and sealing the new bituminous asphalt pavement surfaces. Property owners should contact the City if there’s any issues with repaired irrigation systems.

City staff have received numerous requests to restore yards disturbed by Comcast relocation work – we are forwarding these requests to Comcast staff, who have assured the City they will restore any areas disturbed by their work with topsoil and seed. Residents should also contact the City if there are any concerns with Comcast relocation work.

In the phase 2 area (streets east of Round Lake Blvd and south of 119^th Avenue), remaining work includes the final wear course pavement application on certain streets (expected after the Labor Day weekend), as well as installation of remaining new street lights and street signs. Property owners in the phase 2 areas should contact the City if there’s any issues with repaired irrigation systems.

Street light replacements/LED upgrades within the 22-2 project area are taking place as materials become available and will continue over the next several weeks. All street lights that have been temporarily taken down to accommodate construction will be reinstated.
