Staff Raises Holiday Tree at Boulevard Plaza

Thanks to all City staff who helped in the big move this week! Forestry, public works, police, community and recreation services, and more were out assisting in transporting a huge tree from a private residence to Boulevard Plaza on Tuesday.

Holiday Collection

Donate Toys, Food, Coats, Toiletries

The City began accepting donations this week for a variety of local charities. The collection drive is open through Thursday, Dec. 15. List of items needed.

Drop items in the bins by the tree in the City Hall lobby.
All fire stations are also collecting toys and food.

Camera Upgrades

Begin Monday, Nov. 28

Reminder: crews will be working inside the building and around the exterior at City Center campus starting Nov. 28 to upgrade the existing security camera system with improved technology. The current system is outdated and no longer functioning properly.

You may see contractors up on ladders in common areas, hallways and outside as this process will take several weeks.

Installation Schedule:

11/28-11/30: Police Department
12/1-12/12: City Hall
12/13-12/19: Civic Center

The schedule is subject to change. Upgrades at other City facilities (Ice Center, CTN, etc.) will follow – schedule TBD. Please contact Dzevad with any questions.

Recycling Center Under Construction

Construction at the Coon Rapids Recycling Center began Wednesday, Oct. 12. The Recycling Center is expected to remain open during construction, but will operate with a modified layout as work progresses. Construction will continue throughout 2023.
