Snowplowing Update for 1-23-18 - 9 a.m.
Coon Rapids snowplow crews have been out clearing residential roadways since 2:30 a.m. this morning. Plowing over 400 lane miles of roadways (this includes over 300 cul-de-sacs) in Coon Rapids can take on average, anywhere from 8-12 hours to complete with the staff and equipment we have. If your street has not been plowed as of the time of this message, please know it will be plowed today. Thanks for your patience as crews work to clean up the roadways.
Sidewalk plowing started at 4:30 a.m. and will take place throughout the day.
Winter parking reminder: Winter parking restrictions are in effect until April 1. This means vehicles cannot be parked on the street anytime between 2 a.m. and 6 a.m. each night. Parking is also prohibited on public streets anytime there is an accumulation of three inches of snow, or until the street has been plowed from curb-to-curb. Once the snowplow has gone by, and the street has been thoroughly cleaned from curb-to-curb, parking can resume.
Garbage and recycling can rules: Remember when it is your garbage day, please help our snowplow drivers by putting your garbage and recycling carts behind the curb and not in the street. This is required by City Code and it helps to keep the streets free of obstructions so the plow can go by and clean thoroughly.
Please help our snowplow drivers by keeping other obstructions out of the roadway as well including basketball hoops, hockey nets and other items.
Thanks for your help as our snowplow drivers truly appreciate it!
