Snowplowing Update for Friday, 1-4-19
Coon Rapids snowplow crews will be out plowing neighborhood roadways on Friday, 1-4-19 beginning at 6:30 a.m. Crews will work throughout the day to continue to clean-up the ice and snow on the residential roadways. Warmer temperatures both Thursday and Friday is helping to break up the ice and snow, making it a great time to continue with residential road clean-up.
Snowplow crews appreciate your help in keeping vehicles out of the streets as much as possible until the plows have gone by. Crews also appreciate your help in keeping other obstructions out of the roadway such as hockey nets, basketball hoops and other items. If it's your garbage day tomorrow, please remember to place your carts behind the curb and not in the roadway. This helps our snowplow drivers clean the streets from curb-to-curb.
The City's Snowplow Updates are sent out via email, social media and are posted on the City website when crews do a full plowing of neighborhood streets in all areas of the city. This occurs when the city receives 3+ inches of snow, or when special circumstances warrant additional plowing, such as the additional clean-up taking place tomorrow.
City snowplow crews plow main city streets and the most heavily traveled areas of the city more frequently throughout the winter as part of routine operations. Snowplowing Updates are not sent out for this type of routine plowing.
Winter parking reminder: Winter parking restrictions are now in effect. This means vehicles cannot be parked on the street anytime between 2 a.m. and 6 a.m. each night. Parking is also prohibited on public streets anytime there is an accumulation of three inches of snow, or until the street has been plowed from curb-to-curb. Once the snowplow has gone by, and the street has been thoroughly cleaned from curb-to-curb, parking can resume.
Thanks for your help as our snowplow drivers truly appreciate it when we all work together!
